Welcome to The Draconity Site, a spiritual community for those who believe in or are coming to terms with their draconic identity. The purpose of this site is for those who are dragons or believe in the existence of dragons in general to come together and share the faith with other fellow believers and enjoy. Feel free to discuss your experiences whether they are spiritual or just a personal belief in the Discussion Forum. May The Supreme Dragon above give you peace and guide your path for all eternity.

About The Site

Those that are new to this concept may be wondering, What is Draconity? Frankly, I can't blame such people for asking this question. Afterall, what is the physcological basis for implying that one is a mythical fire-breathing beast? It seems illogical doesn't it? Simply put, it is the belief that one is a dragon in mind and spirit. More thoroughly it is the belief that one was once physically existed as a dragon in a previous lifetime but were reincarnated into human form in the present, but still maintaining the draconic soul. The first thing that certainly runs through most people's minds are that we must be a group of crazies or queers with an identity crisis and no life. No. I believe that there is a fine line between "crazy" and "different" which is why I constructed this site.

I have gone through many ups and downs of coming to the terms of my draconity and in some cases I still am. Most individuals who go through this often feel that they are alone or that something is wrong with them like I did. I want to be there and encourage those dragons who may be going through, for this is no easy path to follow. Draconity takes a lot of self-esteem and will power on the individual's behalf. And that is the sole purpose of TDS, to provide a place for true dragons at heart to come together and be proud of who they are and what they believe in, especially those who may believe but choose not to come out into the open in fear of being ridiculed.

The fact of the matter is that most people are proned to judge or fear what they do not understand. If you do not conform to the standards of society or if you differ from their definitions of "the norm" then society attempts to slap a negative label on you like "weirdo" or outcast you. If some call you a weirdo just remember this, weird is just another word for different and it's quite good to be different as long as it is applied in a positive way. (Good example of odd: Being yourself and not following the crowd despite pressure. Bad example of odd: Running around in a hockey mask scaring people.)

Words cannot express how much I care for draconic individuals and I would be more than glad to be of a help to anyone that I could because I can relate to what you may be going through being a dragon myself. I would like to encourage you are to be strong, hold firm to what you believe in and never let anyone rob you of your faith. Some may say that something is wrong with you but believe it not, for people tend to misunderstand anything that is different from their expectations. On the other hand, those of you who may be tired of societiy's negative portrayal of dragons, that you deserve equal rights just as anyone else or that you are "ousted", what you need to realize is that people are not going to change how they have been thinking for thousands of years. Human beings can hardly tolerate one another in certain situations let alone dragonkind, a different race. So the right thing to do would be to stop looking for approval from humans and start focusing on important issues such as uniting with other fellow like-minded individuals and spreading the word. There is strength in numbers.

Anyway, that's that. The last topic that I am going to address is that of RP-ing. Unfortunately there will be no RP-ing on this site because although they are fun, the aim is to focus on more spiritual and realistic means because Draconists do not practice this based on mere grandeur or wishful thinking, but we take our beliefs to heart. But everything is not all serious, there is a time and a place for fun too. If you feel like chilling out you can discuss everyday topics in general that are non-draconic, chat, share artwork, talk about your favorite books, games and movies. Having all of that said, welcome TDS my friend and enjoy yourself!

About Me

I am an aspiring dragon who is still traveling that never ending spiritual journey to self-awareness as are many others. Just when you think that you have learned almost everything there is about who you are, something new pops up each time. When it comes to my personality, I am quite outgoing and a listener at times because I love hearing what others have to say and their opinions. On the other hand, I am quite a deviant simply because I love being myself, holding firm to my opinions likewise and not letting others influence me in the wrong way. As for my faith, I believe in a combination of Draconity and reincarnation and that we all have or have had spiritual life forms in the past or present, but that can't be said for all for it depends on the individual's interpretation. My favorites hobbies are storm-chasing, anything weather related, traveling and visiting science museums. However, visiting museums because of my love for science is not the only reason that I go there, I also visit order to observe the dinosaur fossil exibits. When I see dinosaurs, it's like I am looking into a mirror or into my past. Sometimes I even become silent and close my eyes in respect like I would a lost loved one because I know that they are my ancestors who once ruled the earth but met their demise millions of years ago. Although they may have died off, their spirits still live on up there amongst the ranks of the stars forever with The Supreme Golden Dragon watching over them all. Having that said, when it comes to my Draconity, I have nothing to hide or be ashamed of. I openly confess that am proud to be a dragon.....I am proud to be of the noble Reptilian race.

A Brief Odd Experience

There has always been this certain connection that I've felt with deers, horses and recently dragons without reason and that I couldn't shake no matter how hard I tried. So I consulted my spiritual guide about this and recieved a vision of three beings. One was a white-tailed deer, the next a dragon and the last a unicorn. I did not understand what this mean't at first but it was revealed unto me that these were my three spiritual life forms and that's when all it hit me.

I remember suddenly blacking out and falling down to the floor. And that's when strange visions rapidly started to flash through my mind. The first one was that I was walking through a small meadow-like clearing in a forest with a few orange trees which signaled the coming of fall. It felt so real that I could literally feel the leaves crunch beneath my feet as I walked, but for some reason my feet felt strange and I seemed unusually shorter. When I looked down, I discovered that I did not have human feet or legs but hooves and fragile brown legs.

Somehow, I automatically knew by instinct that I was a deer and that I needed to find and consume as much food as possible because with winter coming, sources were starting to become scarce and it was essential to store up enough fat to survive the cold. There was a large clump of dandelions lying nearby in the clearing and I can recall walking over to it and nibbling on them, chewing my cud and swollowing the bitter tasting juices. Everything
seemed fine until this loud clicking sound startled me. Even today, there are times were I can still recall that cold fear that rushed through my blood and how I immediately glanced up looking back and forth on all sides of me with my ears pricked and alert. And then I spotted a dark two-legged figure standing peeping and from behind a tree pointing a long shiny stick towards my way.

I knew that I was in danger without question so my first primal instinct was that of flight, Mother Earth's way of saving her children and getting them out of harm's way. When I ran, I felt was my heart pounding hard against my chest and my legs growing tired as I desperately fled as fast as I could from that wooded area, across a field and had almost made it across to a thicker forest on the opposite side before I felt a sharp pain sting the upper part of my right hind flank and fell to the ground. The last thing that I could vividly recall was laying on my side and kicking my back legs in panick because of the pain and the smell of blood coming out of the wound. And then I went into spasms and saw no more.

Words of Encouragement

Of course being in dragon/human form and of greater inteligence now, the "shiny stick" thing was do doubt a gun as we know it but there was no way that I could have known anything of mankind or their technology being a simple-minded deer back then. I honestly do not know what to think about my unicorn form though, so I'll have to consult my guide on this one. But I do know one thing, deers are widely known as timid creatures, which probably gives closure as to why I was shy and timid during my early years in school and as a teen alike. Since I have come of maturity, I am learning to let go of that timid nature in which I lived during my past life and to progress and embrace my present life now as a Fireblood or dragon being full of integrity, dignity and pride. I have learned that it is not always wise to view the world in a "who is right and who is wrong" manner because of course they will always want to convince you that there is something wrong with you and vise versa.

As grandmother used to tell me, sometimes you have to view the intolerant people of world as a pack of wolves. At the head of that pack there is always that alpha dog(society, bigots, judgemental indiviuals)who inserts his dominance and authority and brings the other wolves(followers, conformists,) into submission by using fear of this or that. The rest of the pack have nothing to worry about because they know that as long as they coward down to the lead male, they will be allowed special priveledges. But as is always the case, omega wolf(non-conformists, deviators, different individuals) are constantly harrased and attacked just because they are different and deviate from the expectations of the lead male. But you tell me what happens when the omega finally gathers the up that courage to defy or attack the alpha wolf? What happens if he breaks away from the pack and decides to form his own? If he remains with the first pack, he gains a higher worth and rightful priveledges among pack. If he goes off and forms his own, then he automatically becomes leader. In the same way can you be leaders by simply just being solid in who you are and not letting others step over you just for the heck of it.

Just take a look at how certain groups were persecuted simply because of who they were/are and what they believed/believe in.

African-Americans were persecuted because race and of the color of their skin. What did they do? They did not coward down despite of injustice and predjudice. With enough bravery and hope, they stood strong and persevered until they prevailed.

Christians were persecuted because of their religion and what they believed in. What did they do? They did not coward down despite injustice and opposition. With enough faith in who they were and what they believed in, they stood strong and persevered until they prevailed.

Jews were persecuted because of their race. What did they do? They did not coward down and persevered despite injustice and hatred. They stood and persevered strong until they prevailed.

Wiccans were perscuted because they were accused of being evil. What did they do? They did not coward down despite misunderstanding and being hunted down. Remaining true to who they were, they stood strong and persevered until they prevailed.

Women were denied the right to vote long ago because of sexism. What did they do? They did not coward down despite unfairness because of gender. With enough protesting and the demand for equally, they stood strong and persevered until they prevailed.

Gays are in some ways still facing persecution because what orientation they are. What are they doing?Despite the marriage ban and intolerance, they are not cowarding down. With enough spirit and relentless protesting, they are standing strong and persevering until they prevail.

These are just a few examples of those who have faced hard times but have pulled through. In the same way does
this apply to Draconity. For those who are afraid to come forward, words cannot express how much I care for you and I would be more than glad to be of a help to anyone that I could because I can relate to what you may be going through being a draconic individual myself. Also, not to rain on anyone's parade but it's time to face the reality. Sure, I used to be upset until I learned to just deal with this reality, the reality that choosing to remain in secrecy will not change or help anything. Even if you are open YOU ARE GOING TO BE JUDGED AND RIDICULED FOR WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN just as others have because people are always going to have their opinions. But on a positive note, there will always be those who will accept you just for who you are. The true test of faith is learning to stand strong, to accept the fact and learn to deal with the ordeal nevertheless. In conclusion, blessings be upon all who may be facing trials and persecution of belief and may The Supreme Dragon above and His guardian dragon spirits above watch over you, guide you on your path and give you inner peace forever.

What exactly is Draconity you may ask?

Well, in a way it is similar to the Native American belief in spiritual guides. But the term "Draconity" refers to the state of anything being a dragon, draconic or dragon-like. More commonly it is a term used by a group of people who believe themselves to be the incarnate of a dragon in a psychological, spiritual or even a physical sense. There have been many individuals who has declared themselves as dragons since the rise of the popular online fantasy RPing games. However, this does not apply to true belief. True Draconic individuals define themselves as "dragons" by draconic traits that they have discovered in personal spiritual self-exploration and experience.

The increase of draconic RPing games has caused some people to doubt the authenticy of the belief as a whole due to fact that in some cases it it is based more on fantasy rather than reality-based spiritual means. However, this does not imply that RPing games are wrong, and for some it could be quite fun. The rise of Draconity came thanks to the internet. Otherwise, those who believed would have had no way of communication with like-minded individuals. But although most draconic meetings occur online, there are few remote places where people have gatherings in person to share this faith in many places all over the world.

However, I am not one to believe that beings manifest as another being is just limited only to dragons for there are so many other spiritual forms in this world. Many believe that they are the reincarnated as angels, fairies, extraterrestrials, unicorns, leprechauns, vampires and various real-life animals of the wild(a bobcat for example).

Here are a list of the most common questions about Draconity. Also if you have some questions, feel free to post it in the thread below.

1.) Am I insane for believing that I am a dragon or just dragons in general? The answer to this is
no. It all depends on your perspective. How does it make you feel? When you are confident in your belief,
you do not worry about what others think of you. But you must be aware that people will always have their own opinions and viewpoints, so what seems normal to you may be considered taboo to them and vice versa. So yeah, of course you will get "that look" for stating that you are a dragon or believe in them in public, but that doesn't make you insane. People just simply choose to shun or judge what they do not understand.

Oh and one more thing, just because you are a dragon does not mean that you go jump off of a building out of curiousity just because you think you will grow wings. Please DO NOT attempt this, dragons are inteligent and should know better. This would be a very fool-hearted thing to do lol.

2.) Do dragons exist? Yes indeed they do but it is on another spiritual plane which differs from ours. They
rarely come to earth except by in the form of a select few people. Even if you are not a dragon, often they
appear in dreams of chosen people in order to convey an important spiritual message. If they are good,
then it is wise to concentrate on what they are saying and take heed. If they are up to no good then it is best to rid that negative energy force ASAP.

3.) Are all dragons evil? No. Each has his/her own personality. Every race has their share of the good and the bad, but when it comes to the stereotypes of most myths which depict all dragons as evil, then as Robert Asprin would say, you just have to learn to "dis-myth the myth" so to speak..

4.) Can a dragon shape-shift? Yes. Just as any other animal spirit could. Some transform and some
do not. It depends on their purpose.

5.) Is there any such thing as a false dragon? Yes, some people tend to label themself as a dragon just
to sound "cool", as a prank or blurt it out in order to draw attention to themselves. True dragons are
confident in who they are but in a conservative an decent manner.

6.) Does being a dragon mean that you have the powers of one? Yes, but unfortunately on
this side, no. I believe that one may gain certain powers like flying and breathing fire in the afterlife when
you have proven yourself worthy to be trusted with such powers. On this side, people tend to let
pride, ambition and greed take over and can not be trusted. Although in truth no one can say what really
could and couldn't happen on this earth.

7.) Is Draconity a religion? No, it is not an organized religion where you have to follow a given set of
rules. Rather, it is a personal idea or belief that the individual person chooses to accept.

8.) Is Draconity a form of escaping from the real world and it's problems? True Draconity does
not need to escape from the real world in the first place. It is a part of the real world. However, there are
some who use different methods to solve an emotional problem and this could be one of them,
although those who use it do not really believe it.

9.) Is associating oneself as a dragon a sign of an identity crisis? It depends because some people
really have a problem finding out who they are. In this case it is easy to just randomly call yourself
something that you are not, including a dragon. However, a true Draconist has that gut feeling and
"knows" for some reason that he/she are what they are.

10.) How can you tell who is a dragon in society? Well, my guess would be that dragons may be
very smart but they mostly all have one thing in common: poor social skills and shyness
in the public(I was always extremely shy and quiet around everyone and so were some other Draconist that I know). This is more prone to happenduring the school years. But I'm sure that not all dragons possess this trait, this is merely speculation of the majority correct me if I am wrong. Some dragons are exactly the opposite, being rather charismatic and outgoing in nature. Anyway, who is a dragon you may ask? Just look around your classroom or job for that intelligent, but anti-social person who often sits off to themself in a corner with little or no friends or who is usually akward in normal conversation. It is there that you will often find a dragon ;)

11.) Is there any possibility in the existence of a Supreme Dragon? In almost every belief, there
exists some central supreme deity who is revered or worshipped. On one site I noticed that a few asked could the same be said of Draconity. This cannot be determined yet, as of this is quite a new and rare system of belief but who knows? If you belive firmly enough and become spiritually in tune then we just may find out. Likewise on the other hand, there may be central(good)being in Draconity, but only time will tell. Emphasis was put on the "good" because when most think of powerful dragon beings they think "Well, it must be evil" when that's not the case at all. There is good and evil in every race and creature.

12.) Do Draconists have some pact with the Devil? No and no. By no means do we ally or associate ourselves
with any forms of evil. Of course, we dragons are not perfect so we are bound to make mistakes just as any other living being upon the earth. If anything, I know a few Draconists friends whose main purposes are thwarting evil. What do we mean by this? Well, our central focus is first of all asking the dragon spirits for guidance through everyday life and by helping to save and preserve Mother Earth from being destroyed by the corruption and of mankind as environmentalists who love nature.

13.) Do Draconists label themselves because they think they are better than normal human beings?
Some people think that Draconists are rather arrogant and cocky when that is the furthest from the truth. It's a legit question though. "Why else would anyone claim that they are a dragon other than reasons to feel superior over everyone else?" Believe it or not I asked this question within myself one, but the more that I matured in my belief, the better that I understood that truthfully stating one's Draconity does not come from a desperate attempt to boost one's ego but rather when you know it from the heart.

14.) What planet does dragons live on? Hmmn, not so sure about that. All that we know is that they do exist in the Spirit Realm. There is so much out there in our universe to learn, maybe it will be revealed within time.

15.) Is there such thing as a Christian dragon? One may think that this is a rather odd question that someone would ask about Draconity given how most Christians perceive dragons. However, it is not unheard of in our community. I have a friend who attends church on a regular basis and loves God just as any other Christian would. The only difference? She believes that she is a dragon. The fact of the matter is that one can be a dragon and of varios faiths, not just Draconity.

What is a spirit guide?

"Spirit guide" is a term used by the Western tradition of Spiritualist Churches, mediums and psychics to describe an entity that remains a disincarnate spirit in order to act as a spiritual counselor protector to a living incarnated human being. Traditionally, within most spiritualist churches, spirit guides were often ethnically associated with Native Americans, Chinese or Egyptians being popular for their perceived ancient wisdom, intellect, or enlightened individuals. The term can also refer to animals or totems, controls, angels or nature spirits.

According to doctrine, spirit guides are persons who have lived many former lifetimes, paid their karmic debts, and advanced beyond a need to reincarnate. Each is assigned to watch over an incarnate person, not only on this earth, but on many other planets throughout the universe. Some psychics believe that spirit guides are chosen or assigned on "the other side" by us before we are born and that they guide us to follow our life's plan because we want them to.

So having that said everyone(if you believe) is assigned a spirit guide, each taking a different form. Most people believe them to be "realistic" animals like lions, eagles and horses so to speak. But there have been many accounts of dragon spirit guides the so called "mythical and fabled" creatures. However, not everyone dismisses the mythical. To some, dragon guides exist just as any other form of existing animal guides. It could be that they inhabit in a different realm and just like any other being from the spirit realm they visit mankind. Afterall, we do not know everything that is out there. I believe this because some have had many enlightening experiences with their dragon spirit guides and would you believe that until they made themselves known to their pupils, they were once skeptics?

The History of Dragons

Dragon history is universal throughout the world's ancient cultures. So where exactly did this world-wide concept originate?

According to many, the dragons of legend are strangely like actual creatures that have lived in the past. They are much like the great reptiles or dinosaurs, which inhabited the earth long before mankind appeared.

Where are all these accounts of dragon history?

Actually, it starts with the Bible, the most widely published book in history. In the Bible, the dragon is symbolic for the Devil or the Serpent who was supposedly an fallen angel who rebelled against God and described as pure evil. With this belief being globally widespread and accepted, almost all dragons were presumed to be associted with or were thought to be evil beings . This is a concept commonly held among Christianity and other mainstream biblical religions. Of course, dragon history is by no means limited to the Bible. Dragon accounts from China, Europe, the Middle East, and ancient Latin America share similar accounts of "dragons" and other beasts.

Some cultures had reverence and respect for these creatures. In many ancient Chinese cultures, the dragons are worshipped and associated with being protectors and bringers of good luck and fortune. In other cultures, it was the norm to hate these beings. There are numerous records of warriors killing great beasts in order to establish credibility in a village. Gilgamesh, Fafnir, Beowulf and other famous legends, including the mythology of Egypt, Greece and Rome, include specific descriptions of dragons and other dinosaur-like creatures. However, not everyone stereotypes the dragon as being a horrible, ugly or evil monster. There are many cultures out there today who revere the dragon as a creature of wisdom, nobility and beauty. And of course, there are some people who have dragons as spiritual guides of enlightenment particularly those of Shamanistic faith.

So when it comes to the existence of dragons, the evidence lies right in front of us. Although they may not have been huge fire-breathing winged creatures who horded treasure and gold, they were in the form of huge carniverous lizards which can be proven by scientific fact and paleotology. We refer to in modern day terms as "dinosaurs". Dinosaurs are noting more than real dragons...just with a different name and slightly different features. But on the flip side of the coin, who's to say that there doesn't exist any huge fire-breathing winged creatures who horde treasure and gold? There are so many undiscovered possibilities out there in this world.

This site is strictly for people who profess a genuine belief in Draconity. Whether you believe that you are a dragon in spirit, were one in your past life or just love dragons in general then welcome. Feel free to share your favorite fantasy novels, games, movies etc. but keep in mind that this is not a community for role-players. If you are here to RP then we are sorry, but you have come to the wrong place.

~What is not tolerated on TDS~

If you do not believe in Draconity, that is perfectly fine but insulting those that do is unacceptible. We do not mind if you are curious about the entire concept, but we do ask that our beliefs be respected.

Roleplaying is NOT allowed whatsover on TDS.

No lying or pretending to be a dragon just to say that you are whether you think it is cool or as a joke. Anyone suspected of impersonating WILL BE BANNED.

Continuous insults against other TDS members will not be tolerated.

Saying that "you" are a superior dragon that is "all-knowing and powerful" is simply unrealistic.

Continuous spamming in the threads will automatically get you banned(that is very annoying!).

There will be no "adult" material tolerated on this site.

Things My Guide Taught Me

Here are just a few things that my dragon spiritual guide taught me, mostly about nature. I have some more notes concerning dragons which are coming soon but I will not be able to list them all just right now. They will be added sometime later. Most were spiritual and nature based.

Dragons very well exist in another realm higher than earth. Although they may be unknown, dragon spirits tend to manifest themselves as spiritual guides or in the form of human beings, most of who are not even aware of their draconity. They tend to come in the form of unusually intelligent individuals.

Always have reverence for Mother Nature, for it is she who breathes life into all living organisms.

Every living thing has a spirit manifest inside including the trees. If you go to a forest and listen, discern spiritually and most importantly believe, then you can hear their soft whispers in the wind. Or one can press close to the trunk of a tree. Ask yourself, what do you hear? Each tree's personality varies with age.

Everyone has the power to bring a particular concept or even a being to life with strong mindpower.

Not all spiritual guides are good. Some portray themselves as a good guides and seek to decieve one into believing that he/she is there for the person's benefit when in reality they are just negative forces(spiritual leeches) who are there to usurp power from the person's energy field, especially if it is positive.

True dragons at heart does not go around boast about who they are but rather they share it out of joy with other like-minded individuals.

Learn to discern the difference between what is fact and what is fiction (Ex: I may be a dragon but in this realm of reality I cannot breathe fire or risk my life by jumping off of a building hoping someday that I might sprout wings and fly.) *rolls eyes*

Since his arrival, I have bonded even closer than before with nature to the point that I do not let a day pass without giving reference to Mother Earth. Here are some of the ways in which I do it(may sound a bit...strange)

First thing in the morning I will sometimes step outside in the crisp, cool morning air and slightly sing a song(when no one's around lol) greeting the new day and just to be in harmony with nature.

Sit in the middle of the lawn in the backyard during high-noon and harmonize in peace with the rythmic birdsong and the occasional wind that whispers through the trees. If you listen closely and have your ears in tune, you may just here the faint whisper of a nature spirit or two.

Okay, I'll admit...I'm a tree-hugger! I can spend almost 30 min with my arms embraced around a tree. You can't even explain those good vibes and energy fields that they give off. On some occasions, you can even sing a little song to them. The saying about speaking to plant life is true, it really does make them grow.

During the night(particularly the full moon) I go outside in the backyard and meditate on the moon and the stars. I have my own personal little belief passed down from my family where I meditate and communicate with the stars, whom I refer to as my ancestors in the heavens(and that includes draconic ancestors too) and the moon, who sends down the spirit of wisdom and grace. Everytime this is done, for some odd reason I can hear distinct voices and a feminine, majestic voice whenever I would focus directly on the moon. And then random visions of dragon healers and astral guardians.
